The Journal was founded in 1956. It was out under the titles: “Vescì Akademìì navuk BSSR. Seryâ biâlagičnyh navuk” (Proceedings of the Academy of Sciences of BSSR. Biological Series), published from 1956 to 1991, and “Vescì Akademìì navuk Belarusì. Seryâ biâlagičnyh navuk” (Proceedings of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Biological Series,), published from 1992 to 1998. Since 1998 — it comes under its actual title. The Journal publishes the results of studies, conducted at The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (or other Belarusian and foreign science institutions and universities) in the main branches of biology.
