Sensitivity of bifidobacterial spesies to different types of antibiotics

Abstract

Susceptibility of bifidobacteria (B.adolescentis МС-42, B.bifidum 791, B.longum B379M и B.adolescentis 91-БИМ), to antibiotics differing in mechanism of action was defined and proved to be the highest with respect to b-lactam drugs and the least - to aminoglicoside group. Induced procedure of mutagenesis resulted in stable strains of bifidobacteria showing 12-25-fold increase in resistance to antibiotics of penicillin series and 2-10 times enhanced tolerance to cephalosporins as compared to wild-type cultures
